18. Interactive design

What qualifies as Interactive design?

By “Interactive design” we mean, digital and multimedia formats that are viewed and experienced on a computer or hand-held PDA. This can be differentiated from fine art that integrates multiple media including digital and video formats, which would be considered “mixed media.” Mixed media students should apply in the Fine Arts category.

Also, Interactive majors can be differentiated from Graphic design majors who may use digital media tools but focus primarily on the creation of non-interactive designs such as print, signage, etc. Yes, we understand there is some overlap, so pick the category that is most appropriate to your work and, therefore, the category in which you wish to be judged. Keep in mind that you will be judged along with other applicants in that discipline. And then submit the portfolio format that is required for that discipline.
